Put your camera phone to work

Posted by Jacque on January 5th, 2008

camera-phone.jpgAmit at Digital Inspiration has some great tips on how to increase the effective use of the camera in your mobile phone (especially if you don’t have a digital camera with you), some of which I’ve used or seen used, but many I never thought of.  The post also has some interesting comments.  Here’s a summary of shots to capture:

  • Computer error messages;
  • Places to remember, which will include the date you were there;
  • Wiring/connections before making changes;
  • Your parking place at the mall/airport;
  • Printed text in books, newspapers – instead of taking notes;
  • Copy of the grocery/shopping list;
  • Your face in order to check out your appearance;
  • Google map from PC screen if you don’t have Internet on phone;
  • License plates, photo of cab driver & details.

One of the first uses I saw made of a camera phone was to capture whiteboard notes at a presentation.  How about you?  Photo by Indigo Goat.  Creative Commons license.

    We’ve been blogging about cameraphone search for several years. Here are two one of my favorite posts that discuss several tools and research reading.
