New book focuses on future of libraries
Twenty leading thinkers on the intersections between libraries and technology write about the various ways in which new technologies may be used to meet patrons “where they are.”
Information Tomorrow: Reflections on Technology and the Future of Public & Academic Libraries should stimulate discussion of important issues around technology among IT workers, library managers and administrators. Click on the book cover in the right-hand column under Reading. [via David Lee King]
Photo editing to be a Picnik on Flickr
In the next few months you can expect photo editing tools from Picnik to be available on Flickr, according to TechCrunch.
Clicking on an edit option on the photo page will take the user to a new Flickr photo edit page, with integrated Picnik tools. When you are happy with your changes, you can add the photo to your Flickr account, or if you have a Pro account ($25/year), you can overwrite the original.
I’ll be interested to see how useful this turns out to be. I’m a Flickr user but have always used photo editing software prior to loading on the site.
