Ohio loses decision on barring Internet content
Ohio found itself on the losing end of a judicial decision that struck down a state law banning all Internet transmission of content that is “harmful to minors” if the sender should know that someone on the receiving end is a minor.

According to Ars Technica, Federal judge Walter Rice issued a permanent injunction against the law after pointing out the many ways that it could restrict legitimate speech between adults.

The Dayton Daily News reports that Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann’s office will review the decision to determine if an appeal is in order.

Now library subject guides can contain multimedia and multi-format elements such as photos, videos, social bookmarks, RSS feeds, and widgets.  iLibrarian lists a few, including Squidoo, Libguides, and more.

Lookabee’s Facebook apps for teachers
Lookabee has launched a platform for teachers to create their own Facebook applications to keep in touch with students, says Mashable.

The applications will enable teachers to hand out homework assignments, class notes, etc.  The network within Facebook allows discussions and questions to be sent back and forth between students and teachers as well.
