I love Firefox extensions and have to keep myself in check when considering which ones I really need.  This article at Programmable Web talks about 12 Firefox mashups that add significantly to the usefulness of the browser. 

It includes Shareaholic which we posted about recently, FireUploader for upload/download of photos, etc. with a user friendly FTP-like interface, BlueOrganizer which turns your right mouse button into a new tool, and more.
