After Google, Ask is the first of the major mapping portals to add an easy (cut and paste) way you can embed maps in your blog or website, says Brady Forrest at O’Reilly Radar.

All of Ask’s mapping tools, including drawing tools and movie searches, can be used on an embeddable map.  Forrest sees embeddable maps as a fundamental feature that a user is going to expect from a mapping portal — just as one does at a video or photo sharing site.

Google announced embeddable maps several weeks ago.
