Project Gutenberg and ebooks flourish

Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg, invented ebooks in 1971 and continues to inspire the creation of ebooks and related technologies today. You might be interested in an interview with him at Friedbeef’s Tech.
The official Gutenberg site currently features more than 26,000 books with a million books being downloaded every month, not including sister sites like Gutenberg.cc, which hosts more than 74,000 books at this point. There are links to additional Gutenberg sites at the post.
Gutenberg’s Online Book Catalog features a number of browsing options, advanced search capabilities, and the ability to search by recently added ebooks, top 100 books and authors, as well as audio books, digitized sheet music, and CD/DVD selections.
