First look: Firefox 3 alpha 5
links-3-rust.jpgFor all you ALPHA techies, Firefox 3 alpha 5 has been officially released.   Ars Technica notes that this alpha version migrates bookmark storage from the current XML data format to the SQLite-based MozStorage system.  Bookmarks can now be found in the places.sqlite file in Firefox profile directories.  Firefox 3 alpha 5 also features a new password manager. An assortment of new minor features are also included in Firefox 3 alpha 5.

There is not yet an officially anticipated release date for Firefox 3. The first beta release will occur in late July following the final feature and user interface freeze, and a second beta is planned for September.  After the second beta release, additional betas and release candidates will be released as needed until the final Firefox 3 release.

And for all you del.icio.us users, Amit Agarwal has detailed instructions on how to add multiple URLs to the site in a batch.  He also has some hints on why you might want to do it, bloggers.

Flickr Facebook app is now available
From Mashable we learn that the new Flickr app for Facebook (not created by Flickr) includes the ability to share your Flickr photos with friends directly through your Facebook profile, highlight recent photos, and connect you with friends on Flickr friends that are on Facebook as well.
