2007: The year of the “expert wiki”?
scholarpedia.jpgIncludes Citizendium for peer review, Scholarpedia for peer review and building an expert encyclopedia from the ground up, and Wikileaks, a site now in beta that wants to be a clearinghouse of “leaked” information, with anonymous access for posters and which targets “oppressive regimes in Asia,etc.”  [ars technica]

Google Coop’s most popular custom search engines
dltk-kidsearch.jpgI mentioned “Best free reference websites” custom search yesterday – here’s a list of other popular searches that have been created.  Some may be of interest to libraries wanting to alert patrons to possibilities, including Google Accessible Search (for visually impaired) and a search engine for children’s crafts, coloring pages, and projects with educational themes, called DLTK’s Sites.
